THE WINTER SWIM SERIES - June 2026 to October 2026

SwimScape is proud to launch The Winter Swim Series in collaboration with Mairangi Bay Surf Life Saving Club, right on the shores of Mairangi Bay on Auckland’s North Shore. We aim to bring swimmers together through the colder months, focusing on resilience, community, and the unique energy that comes from embracing the ocean in winter.

Whether you’re building confidence or chasing a challenge, you can choose between 500m and 2000m swim options, making the series accessible to a wide range of abilities. It’s not about speed—it’s about showing up, getting in, and sharing the experience.

Safety will be managed by the experienced team at Mairangi Bay Surf Life Saving Club allowing you can focus on the swim knowing you’re in good hands. And there’s no strict gear code - all equipment is welcome, including wetsuits, paddles, fins, and anything else that supports your journey into cold water swimming.  NOTE - safety tow floats will be compulsory - bring your own, borrow one from us, or purchase one at the event. 

But the real magic happens after you get out. Warm up in the clubhouse with hot drinks, breakfast, blankets, and hot water bottles, and connect with fellow swimmers, share stories of cold water acclimatisation, challenges, and small wins. It’s these moments—foggy breath, warm hands, and shared laughs—that define The Winter Swim Series.

Registration will be open from 7am on swim days, swim start time will be 8am sharp.
